Chinese numbers with pinyin and audio
Know 一 to 十? Build the rest step by step. Learn to read whole numbers through 99,999, with 十万 (100,000) as the next milestone.
Start with Course 1 · Let’s count if 1–10 are new. Complete one short lesson at a time, then come back for the next.
- 1. Count to 99 — Build tens and ones from the numbers you already know.
- 2. Hundreds and zero — Read 100–999 and use 零 for an empty place.
- 3. Thousands — Combine 千, 百, 十 and ones in order.
- 4. Ten thousand and beyond — Use 万 as a group of ten thousand.
Each lesson includes examples, a short speaking activity and six reading checks. The checks assess number patterns; they do not grade pronunciation.
Listen to the complete examples in each lesson, then read them aloud.

The place-value ladder
十 shí · 10 → 百 bǎi · 100 → 千 qiān · 1,000 → 万 wàn · 10,000
Use the full forms first. Prices and quantities use these patterns; calendar years and phone numbers are often read digit by digit.
