Privacy and progress
You can try a short practice without an account. Recording, saving progress and anonymous activity counts work differently.
Your voice stays in the current tab
Microphone access begins when you choose Record. Practice recordings stay in the current browser tab and are cleared when you reload or leave. They are not uploaded or included in progress sync or promotion counts.
Optional saved progress
Signed-in learners can save supported progress, including learner profile names and practice results, across devices using their account. Guest behaviour depends on the activity: the first ten-minute practice stays in the current tab; some course settings and practice use browser storage. You can review progress controls and account options in My learning and Help & FAQ.
Anonymous activity counts
To understand whether promotion helps people begin learning, the site counts page views, starts and finishes of the short intro, practice-pack views and sample opens. Counts are grouped by day, broad page type, source and a fixed topic label.
These counts do not include names, account IDs, learner answers, voice recordings, full page URLs or stored IP addresses. No advertising cookies or visitor identifier are created for this counting. A source label may be kept in this tab until it closes. The site keeps daily totals for up to 90 days. Hosting and sign-in providers may separately process request or account information to operate their services.
Turning this off affects future counts on this browser. The site also respects Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control, where available; these settings can keep the option off. You can still use the lessons.
If you buy a practice pack
When checkout opens, the payment provider handles your payment information. A checkout reference is used to verify access to the purchased PDF. Payment details and checkout references are not added to the anonymous activity counts.
Feedback you choose to send
The feedback form sends the text, page and device details you choose to submit, plus an optional contact address. Only the site owner can read submissions. Leave out children’s names, private voice recordings and other identifying details.
